After Christmas Decorating

I love the white lights of the Christmas tree and my mantel. My favorite is to curl up and watch tv with just the white lights on. After Christmas when the tree comes down and the decorations get put away I miss the twinkle. I have been looking for some decorating ideas to keep the white lights up after Christmas but have not found much. Any ideas??

  1. I have a "plant shelf" that I put white lights on. This year I covered it with dark red organza over the lights and kind of bunched it up. Then I added long piller candle holders and a few holiday sprigs with glittered fruit. It adds a beautiful glow to the area and covers a "eye sore" of a shelf that is right above our tv. You might try something like that or put the lights in various sizes of mason jars with a little greenary mixed in. Best of luck.

  2. I'm with you! I always miss the twinkle of lights after Christmas. I've seen lights put under bunk beds in kids' rooms and it looks super cute! PS I home school my oldest son too. AND I was home schooled from 4th grade through high school. :D

  3. I'm totally with you! I was so sad taking all our lights down! My daughter asked why we could't keep them up all year round and I was like "you're right!!" I'm still trying to figure out a way to do it to where it looks classy and not like I want Christmas to live forever on...LOL

  4. I keep clear lights on my large indoor plants all year. I also have lights over an antique armoire in the dining room that are mixed in with some gold beaded roping.
